Mozart as Apollo

The way to the Great Hall leads visitors through the foyer, which keeps the classicist character facade. In this room there is another special piece - the bronze statue of Mozart as Apollo. Here, "the genius of the house is depicted as the god of the Muses, in antique nudity and in deliberate imitation of the Apollo of Belvedere," a contemporary witness described the work of art in 1914. A "Naked Mozart," created by Viennese sculptor Edmund von Hellmer, caused discussions discussion among visitors. Being welcomed by a completely naked Wolfgang Amadé Mozart some say, that visitors blushed on their way to attending a concert.
